Through years of hard work, our center has accomplished certain achievements in development and research of new pesticides, and

finished more than ten national and provincial scientific and technological projects, projects of provincial natural science fund, provincial education department, and enterprise itself, and among them, several provincial scientific and technological projects were appraised as world advanced level by experts of Heilongjiang Department of Science and Technology, and over ten projects have finished pilot plant test and production, with technique up to the advanced level in China. By providing support in technical innovation and upgrade of pesticide category, the center has created considerable economic benefit for enterprises. Anilofos, Mesotrion, Mefenacet, Propisochlor, propargite, Cyhalofop-butyl, and Hexythiazox projects, etc have realized mass production.
As cooperating with factories and developing new pesticide categories, the center also pays much attention to the research on pesticides with proprietary intellectual rights. As the domestic economic construction develops and is in line with international society, the activity that copy foreign pesticide category in the past cannot adapt to the development of pesticide industry in China. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate new pesticide category

with proprietary intellectual rights. Our state and provincial commissions of science and technology set up new pesticide creation & development fund respectively and support the research on the state-class projects. In 2001, we succeeded in applying for national scientific and technological tackle project—R&D of new pesticide category innovation, which settled favorable base for new pesticide development. Through years of research, the center has accumulated certain experience and research base in pesticide synthesis technology. And based on the molecular structure of current pesticide category, the center designs and develops more than 200 new standby compounds for pesticide. Concluding from the molecular structure and the composition of degradation in the plant, these compounds may have higher biological activity than the former structure compounds. It is under repeated selection and research and likely to be new generation of herbicide category. We have declared seven national invention patents and three of them have been accredited. Now our center is researching compound structure further to improve synthetic method, increase biological activity, and try to get breakthrough in short times.
